The Greater Bank Shoalhaven King of the Mountain on Sunday, 27 August 2017 is a classic 25km mountain run held on mixed terrain, starting and finishing at the Kangaroo Valley Country Club in Nowra, NSW. It is with regret that the Committee of the King of the Mountain has made the decision to cancel this year's event. They were lined up around the block most of the morning. Hot rods, customs, and classics of every flavor descended on the Griot’s Garage shop this morning for a poker run hosted by the King’s Men Car Club. Enjoy the photos, and be sure to check out the Goodguys show this weekend to see these (and tons of other) awesome rides. It’s tough for me to pick just one favorite.

Pomona King of the Mountain Poker Run. The 9th Annual Pomona Poker Run gets underway this year – Sunday 5 July 2015. This is the major fundraiser for the Pomona King of the Mountain Festival, a project of the Cooroy-Pomona Lions Club. Registrations commence from 8am at Stan Topper Park, Pomona. Aug 18, 2019  The annual Camden Haven King of the Mountain Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, 18 August 2019 is an infamous 5km hill-climb in Laurieton, NSW. The event takes competitors from the North Brother turn-off at Ocean Drive in West Haven, along Captain Cook Bicentenary Road, and up to the top of North Brother Mountain at an elevation of 490m above sea level. About 10 miles out of crown king a miner has totally damaged the backroad into the forest to go to crown king don’t waste your time trying to drive to crown king from lake pleasant its obvious the miner/land owner blocked the road on purpose unless you have a crazy rock climber I promise don’t waste your time I just wonder why the city or state hasn’t done something about this.

Over 300 bike enthusiasts gathered at Pomona on 6 July for the King of the Mountain Poker Run. Poker Run organiser, Steven Stewart was thrilled by the number of participants. “It was our aim this year to increase participation and the additional 70 people who registered on the day was a great bonus. This year was our best turnout ever,” said Steven.

The weather dealt riders a perfect day for bikes to wind their way through the beautiful Noosa Hinterland countryside. Stopping at designated checkpoints, riders collect playing cards gradually filling their poker hand. The rider holding the best hand on return to Pomona is declared the winner. Further prizes are given for the next best hands and prizes are given out at random draws along the route.

“This is a great community event,” said Heather Manders, Wimmers King of the Mountain chairperson, “All the prizes are donated by local shopkeepers and businesses. I’d like to thank all our sponsors for their ongoing support. We’re very grateful for their contribution.”

This year the Poker Run raised over $7500 for the Cooroy Pomona Lions Club. The Club is a not for profit organisation which is dedicated to serving others. The funds will go to helping the local community where needed and will support the Wimmers King of the Mountain Festival on 27 July.
